The Golden Rules of Jesmonite Care
💧 Keep It Dry
Jesmonite is not waterproof, so it's important to keep your piece away from prolonged exposure to water or moisture. Avoid placing it in bathrooms, near sinks, or outdoors where it could get wet. A quick wipe with a damp cloth is absolutely fine — just don't submerge it in water or leave it in a wet environment.
☀️ Avoid Direct Sunlight
Like many handmade materials, Jesmonite can fade or discolour if left in direct sunlight for long periods. Display your piece in a bright room, but away from windowsills where the sun shines directly onto it for hours at a time.
🧴 Dust Gently and Regularly
The best way to clean your Jesmonite piece is with a soft, dry cloth or a very soft brush. Gently dust it regularly to keep it looking fresh and beautiful. Avoid abrasive cloths or harsh cleaning products, as these can scratch or damage the surface.
